Privacy Policy

This page explains how personal data is processed in connection with the Tech Leaders' Forum website (techleaders.forum) and the in-person sessions we host. We aim to keep this short and plain.

1. Who we are (joint data controllers)

Tech Leaders' Forum is hosted by Emese Pogácsás and Péter Szász, acting as joint controllers under Article 26 GDPR. For any question related to your personal data, contact us at info@techleaders.forum.

2. What we process and why

When you email us. If you write to us at info@techleaders.forum, we process the information you choose to send (typically your name, email address, and the contents of your message) so that we can reply to you and keep a record of the conversation. Legal basis: legitimate interest in handling correspondence (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or steps prior to entering an arrangement at your request (Art. 6(1)(b)) where applicable.

When you visit the site. Our hosting provider records standard server access information (IP address, user-agent, timestamp, requested URL) for operational and security purposes. In addition, we run a self-hosted analytics instance (Umami) at stats.peterszasz.com. Umami is configured in its default cookieless mode: it does not set cookies or use local storage, does not track you across sites, and uses only ephemeral salted-hash visitor identifiers to count daily page views and referrers. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f)).

When you register for a forum session. Registration is handled through our event logistics partners — currently Luma (lu.ma) and CraftHub (crafthub.events). When you register, you contract directly with them; they collect your name, email and any other details you provide under their own privacy policies, and they manage any consent for future-event announcements on their side. We receive an attendee list from them solely so that we can run the session in the room.

3. Who receives your data

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertising or marketing third parties.

4. Transfers outside the EEA

Because the site is served via GitHub Pages, technical data (such as your IP address and request metadata) is processed by GitHub in the United States. GitHub relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework as a basis for these transfers. When registration is handled via Luma, your data is also processed by Luma AI, Inc. in the United States under their own privacy policy and transfer safeguards. The rest of our processing takes place within the EU.

5. How long we keep your data

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to ask us to correct it, to ask us to delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, to request portability, and to withdraw any consent you previously gave. To exercise any of these rights, write to info@techleaders.forum. We will respond within one month.

7. Right to complain

If you believe we have not handled your data lawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Hungarian Data Protection Authority:

Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH)
1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11.
Phone: +36 1 391 1400
Email: ugyfelszolgalat@naih.hu
Web: naih.hu

8. Automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

9. Children

The forum is aimed at engineering and technology leaders. The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly process their personal data.

10. Changes to this policy

We update this page when our processing changes. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.
